National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February every year. 
  • Theme (2019): Science for people and people for science.
  • It celebrate the discovery of Raman Effect by C V Raman in 1928.
  • C V Raman was awarded Noble prize in Physics in 1930.



  • UNaTI was launched by Department of Biotechnology on its 33rd foundation day on 26th February 2019.

  • ISRO is all set to launch PSLV C45 at the end of March. It is the first kind of mission in which three payloads will be launched in different orbits.

  • Supersonic aircraft is an aircraft able to fly faster than the speed of sound.

  • India is third largest energy consumer in the world after USA and China.

  • Pasteurization is a process in which milk is heated to a particular temperature to kill harmful bacterias followed by rapid cooling.
